Circostrada Network: Hasselt 2010

The European network Circostrada will hold its second meeting of 2010 as part of the street and circus arts festival Theater op de Markt, which will take place 5-8 August in Hasselt (Belgium). This gathering will bring together network members in order to set a new three-year strategy. It will also be an opportunity to meet Belgian operators working within our sectors. Several work sessions will be offered, with one on bringing together partnerships working on European cooperation projects.

About Geece, a 1st edition of the International Street Theatre Festival took place from

September 30 to October 4, 2009 in the historical centre of Athens and around the

Secret Rock of Acropolis. It was organized in cooperation with the National Centre of

Theatre and Dance of the Hellenic Ministry of Civilization.

The festival is an initiative of the Street Theatre HELIX, which invites anyone who works

on street theatre in order to promote this specific kind of theatre. It is divided in two

parts: the main part strictly hosts selected companies whereas the open part is free and

any artist or company can participate. The festival is competitive and 4 prizes are

awarded.
